What happens when citizen journalism goes wrong

This illustrated podcast explore the problems that can arise in citizen journalism, when people are essentially participating in open, unregulated platforms. To what extent can we trust sources, and how should we read them? Whilst largely approaching this from the perspective of audiences, we look at the contexts and practitioners and then turn our focus on the various forms of misinformation, rumours, hoaxes ands trolling that can muddy the otherwise clear waters of citizen journalism. All points worth considering in your own use of Facebook, Twitter, etc – as writer but also reader.
