The ‘value’ of investigative journalism

Investigative journalism can be a large undertaking for journalists, let alone citizen journalists without the same support structures. So is it worth it? What is its value? In this podcast we explore the ways it can shed light on the dark corners of society that governments, organisations and companies might prefer to keep under wraps. We also examine ways this form of journalism helps to inform us in our life choices, whether it’s how to vote for a political leader, or which products to buy from an ethical standpoint.
