Agents for Change: Women as Grassroots Peacebuilders in Yemen
Funded: Women4Yemen Network
The Women4Yemen Network works in media, human rights and civil society, with the aim of making peace and achieving stability for Yemen by mobilizing, advocating, and empowering women.

Project
The funding allowed Women4Yemen Network to set up a new investigative project which focused on the efforts of grassroots, women-led activism to support peace in Yemen. This explored how the work of women activists supports peace on the ground and how their insights can be harnessed in peace efforts, negotiations and mediation. It also addressed the challenges, gaps, opportunities, future steps and recommendations, resulting in a research report. The NAWA-IF microgrant specifically supported Women4Yemen to design, develop and publish this research paper on the role of Yemeni women in the peace process. We anticipate this report to play a key role in setting up funding and policy agenda for peace-building efforts in Yemen. We are in conversation with the team on ways to further support their work.
