Investigative report and website documenting Beirut’s metal/punk/skate scene

Funded: Rehla Mag

Rehla Mag is a monthly cultural magazine based in Lebanon that publishes critical stories, essays and research at the intersection of philosophy, politics, arts, culture and psychology. As a collective, they produce a monthly cultural print magazine as well as online articles, videos and visual material. Their main focus is youth from Arabic-speaking countries.

Funding supported research of the heavy metal / skate and punk scenes in Beirut, from 2005-2019. This resulted in a report consisting of vignettes and narratives from the scene, and was presented in an innovative audio/visual presentation online: “Are The Streets Still For Dreaming? Towards forensics of Beirut: Rewriting the urban space through sonic assault”.
