Digital safety for journalists – training MOOC
Funded: Digital Rights Foundation
Digital Rights Foundation is a Pakistan-based NGO that focuses on research-based advocacy on ICTs to support human rights, democratic processes, and digital governance. DRF envisions a place where all people, and especially women, are able to exercise their right of expression without being threatened, believing that free Internet with access to information and impeccable privacy policies can encourage a healthy and productive environment that would eventually help not only women, but the world at large.

NAWA-IF has funded the development and implementation of an exhaustive massive open online MOOC on digital safety for journalists. The MOOC introduces journalists to the digital threats that they can potentially face, and digital tools and practices that journalists can adopt to ensure their digital safety. The team has developed resources specifically for the four-week MOOC in the form of illustrated case studies, infographics, and short videos (in the form of short lectures, interviews with others, journalists and tutorials for tools).
